"Crown" 13 yr old Quarter Horse Morgan. 14.1 hands.

Up to date on vaccinations (April) , dewormer (April) , and hooves trimmed last week.

Great hard black hooves. Bathes, clips, ties, stands. Great for the farrier, shots, dewormer. Hops right in the trailer. Has no maintenance. Hauls well. Eats and Drinks well on the road. Does well in pasture or stalled. Gets along great with other horses.

We bought him as a step up horse for my 9 year old, but unfortunately, they do not match up as well as I had hoped and we found him a new one, so Crown needs to find his new person.

This is a horse that enjoys his work, enjoys his kids, enjoys his people. He will meet you at the gate.

I wouldn't say beginner friendly, as he can have days with energy if not consistently used, and this can be intimidating for beginners, so I would say more suitable for intermediate on up.

We have used him mainly for trail rides, checking cows, and playdays. He does know some gaming patterns and can make some nice runs. Point and shoot type horse. He did great with goat tying for my son. This is one my son and I would hop on bareback and take for a ride in the evening. He has been my favorite horse to ride out in the badlands- goes wherever you ask- no problem. Rode into town and didn't bat an eye when we stood by the train as it came ripping through town. Goes through whatever you want, rivers, puddles, logs, you name it. Not much phases him. If we had space, i'd love to keep him for this, but unfortunately we do not have the acreage.

Previous owner used him for a variety of things. They said they did some break away with him, Used for checking cows and doctor/drag/rope off, he Ropes heel side, has a nice stop, great goat tying horse, also used in the past for pick up, flags, bulldoggin, roping and lots of ranch work.

What we have found as quirks over the past year owning him- he can get pushy on the trail with kids if the child doesn't correct the behavior right away. THis may lead to head tossing so we kept a tie down on him for this reason- but didn't necessarily always need- usually didn't with adults. He also had days he seemed to really feed off the energy in an arena at a playday when there were a lot of people, but other days he didn't care (This maybe was nervous energy from my son??). This usually only happened when he wasn't ridden consistently the week prior to the event. But When we would go practice at arena's with less people/horses, my 7 yr olds were easily able to have him walk all around no problem without him getting excited and do whatever they wanted.
